DES PTO

Dade Elementary School PTO had a very successful 2008!

The art show had a terrific turn out and the Holiday Shop was a lot of fun for the children.  Many new faces have been volunteering for PTO events as well.  To all of those who have volunteered your time for PTO  we thank you very much.  We hope to see new faces in 2009.

Along with new faces for volunteering we also need to start thinking about new officers.  If you are interested in being part of a group thats sole purpose is to help better Dade Elementary School please consider becoming a PTO officer.  Positions are as follows... President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary.  If you are willing and interested please leave a note at the front office.

PTO events for 2009 will be as follows with dates yet to be determined:

  • Family Movie Night - January
  • Nacho Sale - February
  • Spring Fling - March or April

PTO meetings will be as follows:

  • January 13th at 6:00 PM
  • February 10th at 6:00 PM
  • May 12th at 6:00 PM - new officers will be elected

PTO's main fundraiser will also begin in January.  We will be selling Sonic discount cards for $5.00 each.  Please encourage family members to buy these cards to help benefit the school.  More information to follow.

As always, the handprints that line the hallway at the front of the school are available for $5.00 each.

A summary of what PTO has spent past earnings on this year:

  • $3000.00 - $500 going  to each grade level
  • $2000.00 - mulch for both playgrounds
  • $200.00 - crafts and snacks for families to enjoy during the art show
