Criterion Referenced Competency Test
What is the purpose of the CRCT? The CRCT is designed to measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the Quality Core Curriculum (QCC). The assessments yield information on academic achievement at the student, class, school, system, and state levels. This information is used to diagnose individual student strengths and weaknesses as related to instruction of the QCC, and to gauge the quality of the education throughout Georgia.
What content areas and grade levels are tested? Georgia law, as amended by the A+ Education Reform Act of 2000, requires all students in grades one through eight take the CRCT in the content areas of reading, English/language arts, and mathematics. Students in grades three through eight are also assessed in science and social studies. The CRCT only assesses the content standards outlined in the QCC.
This site contains questions in the areas of reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Using this site allows students to practice test taking skills and to become comfortable with the way questions may be phrased.
Students are able to practice from school or home. The site is password protected (students can get their login and password at school).
